Medicine Mama: Herbal Remedy For Coughs

 
My Grandmommy and Grandpop have been herbalists longer than I have been alive. I was never sick as a child. Why? It was not uncommon for my Grandmommy to start "pulling roots" as soon as she hear a cough or felt a temperature. When I became older, I strayed from herbal medicine and focused more on Western medicine. 

Well it was not Western medicine that healed me in 2011, when I felt like I was dying from a whooping cough. It was my Grandpop's herbal remedy. The unique thing about my Grandparents is they focus on leaving the world better than, they found it. I don't think that he would be upset, if I shared it with you.
